Frequently Asked Questions

How do the driving lessons work?

We do things a little differently. Rather than "buy 5 lessons" and good luck to you, we provide driving programs tailored to you. Which program best suits you will depend on your time, availability and learning budget.

How much do the driving programs cost?

This all depends on what program is best suited for you. This will depend on your time, availability and learning needs. Then each program has two payment options - one up front payment with a BIG discount or a weekly direct debit with a smaller discount. Either way - our driving programs will give you more value and save you more time and money than booking a single driving lesson with us.

What's the Decide To Drive guarantee?

We're the only company in Australia offering learner drivers a money-back and or a work-for-FREE guarantee!

Here's how the Decide To Drive guarantee works:

  1. If you're not completely satisfied at any time during your driving program, we'll refund the amount paid.
  2. If you've completed a driving program and don't pass your driving test, we'll work with you for FREE until you do. Terms & Conditions apply*

Can I try it out before committing to a driving program?

Absolutely! And this is heavily encouraged because a driving program is a major time commitment and we only want to work with learners that are fully invested.

Here's what we can offer you:

  • If you're not local to Ropes Crossing, we have single driving lessons available.
  • If you are local to Ropes Crossing, we have a SQUARE ONE program which is your first driving lesson valued at $110, completely FREE.

Why do we get off the road between 12pm - 2pm everyday?

The answer: to rest & recover

Planned rest is a recognised fatigue-management strategy, including in safety-critical industries such as aviation and professional driving. We believe that to give you the most value, our coaches must perform at their peak. So before getting behind the wheel with a learner, we build recovery into the working day from 12pm - 2pm rather than waiting until fatigue becomes a problem.

This allows our entire team to shut down the system, turn off external distractions, eat, rest, recover and if needed, take a nap.

With intentional fatigue management - we're better rested, better focused and are able to provide you better results. This approach is informed by our research into the human body, fatigue, circadian performance and controlled rest.

Here are three examples that support these claims:

  1. Formula 1 Drivers & Performance Coaches - planned daytime naps can improve cognitive and physical performance and reduce fatigue.
  2. NASA / commercial pilots - planned rest improves alertness and performance.
  3. Long-Haul Drivers - afternoon napping improves alertness and reaction performance
